Welcome & Purpose

• Welcome to the referee team!
• Our goal: build confident, knowledgeable officials
• You are an important part of the game
• We support learning and growth every season

Game Day Responsibilities

• Arrive at least 30 minutes early
• Check field, goals, and player equipment
• Conduct professional player check-in
• Start games on time

What to Bring

• Referee uniform (clean and tucked)
• Whistle and watch/timer
• Red and yellow cards
• Notebook and coin
• Water and weather-appropriate gear

Professionalism Matters

• Be confident — even while learning
• Use clear signals and strong whistle
• Stay neutral and fair
• Represent the referee community with pride

Handling First-Game Nerves

• It is normal to feel nervous
• Focus on the next decision — not the last one
• Use your pregame routine
• Ask questions and seek feedback

Managing Coaches & Spectators

• Stay calm and professional
• Do not engage in arguments
• Use your assignor or mentor if issues arise
• Safety and game control come first
