What We Have Accomplished

Trash cleanup - 30+ events

Fundraising - 6 events

Food bank volunteering - 10+ events

Team building activities - 7 events

Publications - 8 articles

Team meetings on Zoom - 3 times

Trash Clean Up

We organized more than 30 trash cleaning activities in 2021. Some of the highlights were:

​

1. Earth Day Challenge - Some team members cleaned up trash around their neighborhoods on Earth Day.
2. Shine A Light Awards Ceremony - Some members got the Shine A Light Award, and then we picked up trash in Wills Park after the awards ceremony.
3. Lake Lanier Shore Sweep 2021 - This is organized by Lake Lanier Association. More than 20 team members participated, including students and parents.

Fundraising

We organized 7 fundraising activities in 2021. Some of the highlights were:

​

1. CFF 5k Walk - Together as a team, we walked more than 60 miles and raised $460 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
2. Summer Bake Sales - We baked cookies, brownies, muffins, etc and made lemonade and sold them in a neighborhood to raise money for trash cleaning equipment purchases.
3. Salvation Army Bell Ringing - We organized three days of bell ringing in November and December, and raised close to $1400, which the Salvation Army will use to help people in need during the holidays.

Team Building

We organized several team building activities in 2021. Some of the highlights were:

1. Kayaking on Lake Lanier
2. Whitewater rafting in Columbus, GA
3. Boating on Lake Allatoona for Labor Day Weekend
4. Skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area
