Entering the Classroom

  • Aim to be in the classroom when the start bell rings.
    • The door stays open for 3 minutes after the bell rings.
      • This is extra restroom and locker time.
        • Tardy= Out of the classroom when door is shuts
          • X5 Tardy = Office Referral.
  • Locate & sit in assigned seats.
    • Read the Daily Agenda and organize needed materials.
  • Participate in the Connect: Brain Break activity.
  • Prepare for or start the Investigate & Synthesize Activity.
  • When done or in doubt: check your work, prepare for the next activity, and get ready for teacher directions.

Starting Lesson�

  • Teacher will stand in front of classroom and ask for attention.
    • Visual/Audio clues will also be used:
      • 1-2-3 eyes on me, freeze, lights off, campus universals.
  • Once the class is quiet and focused the lesson will continue.�
  • Follow the BAMS Expectations of:
    • Be Here & Ready
    • Be Respectful
    • Be Kind�
  • No passes during this time.

Note Taking�

  • Students are EXPECTED to be active & take notes.
  • Keep your notes organized.
    • Everything is based on your notes.
  • STUDENTS are responsible for their own notes.
  • Only one student copy can be guaranteed
    • either digital or hard copy.
      • extras must be printed through from our google classroom BY THE STUDENT.
  • A pass is available during this time. Follow 1 out at a time & sign out policy.
    • If using a pass results in: missing notes, missing teacher review, or not getting notes done; this is a natural consequence of leaving on a pass. You are responsible for what you miss.

�Independent Work

  • Stay seated.�
  • Follow directions and steps for the assignment.�
  • Raise hand and wait for questions and answers.�
  • Stay on task.�
  • No verbal/physical disruptions or disrespect will be accepted.�
  • A pass is available during this time. Follow 1 out at a time & sign out policy.
    • If using a pass results in: missing work, missing teacher review, or not getting work done; this is a natural consequence of leaving on a pass. You are responsible for what you miss.

Classroom Discussions

  • Raise hand and WAIT to give an opinion, fact, response, or ask questions.�
  • All opinions, facts, responses, and questions MUST be respectful to everyone.�
  • Opinions, facts, responses, and questions must be on topic.�
  • No verbal/physical disruptions or disrespect will be accepted during a discussion.�
  • If expectations are not followed this activity will be removed OR individuals will be.�
  • No passes during this time.

Working in Groups

  • Teacher will form groups.�
  • Follow teacher directions and steps working with your group.�
  • Work WITHIN your group only..�
  • Each member must have an on-Topic job.�
  • No verbal/physical disruptions or disrespect will be accepted from groups or their members.�
  • If expectations are not followed this activity will be removed OR individuals will be�.
