Pandit Kirpa Raam

Kashmiri Pandits led by Pandit Kirpa Raam come to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee to save & protect their Hindu faith from the oppressive conversion tactics of the Mughals. They say someone needs to give a sacrifice for them to protect them. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee at this young age says, “Father, you should give this sacrifice.” Which leads to the Shaheedi of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee

Shaheedi Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee receives the Sees/Head of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee at Kiratpur Sahib from Bhai Jetha Jee. Guru Jee asks, “Did any of the Sikhs in the crowd at Chandni Chowk speak up against this injustice.” Bhai Jetha Jee says, “Everyone was silent.” Guru Jee says, “I will make a nation that will be recognised from a far and who will always speak up against injustice.” Referring to creating the Khalsa.

  • Account from ‘Gurbani Paath Darpan’ Taksal pothi
  • Guhaj Katha, Bhai Har Singh – a pothi attributed to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee that Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee had darshan of at Hazoor Sahib via Head Granthi Bhai Hazoora Singh in 1939
  • Maharaj sent invites to Sikhs all over the world to attend
  • Tent for 250,000 people erected at Takhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib with a closed off section where Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee parkash done
  • 1 million sikhs in attendance

  • Asa Dee Var finishes in the tent
  • After Ardas Maharaj takes out Kirpan from sheath, demanding for the sacrifice of a head
  • On the third call Bhai Deya Singh Jee volunteers
  • Maharaj asks, “Do you have any physical ailment or are you fed up of enmity with someone? Why do you offer your head?”
  • Meaning you are not just offering your head as you are ill or just want to die due to being fed up of being in conflict with someone.
  • Bhai Deya Singh: Maharaj my head has belonged to you since I entered your sanctuary. Forgive me for not coming on the first two calls for a head. Bless me & take my head.

  • Maharaj takes Bhai Deya Singh into tent – cuts his head off in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee
  • This continues with all Singhs, Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Himmat Singh, Bhai Mokham Singh, Bhai Sahib Singh
  • Other historians have written about goats as they don’t have the faith in Maharaj to be able to bring back to life. Maharaj bought them back to life
