CAREER EXPLORATORY – GRADE 9

  • Grade 9 students select 8 programs to explore
  • September – January: Students spend ½ of each day during “B” week exploring a CTE area of their choice
  • Students are graded during each cycle of exploratory
  • Students select their top program in mid-January. Order of program selection is based on success throughout career exploratory
  • Students are assigned to their CTE Program for the remainder of the year

TEAM PROCESS

  • Transition: For families considering Keefe Tech, a representative can attend your child’s transition or annual review meeting to provide information about our programming for a successful transition – with the school closure please contact Mike Dolan, Director of Special Education at mdolan@jpkeefehs.org with any questions
    • IEPs are transitioned over the summer to ensure accurate service delivery at the start of the school year
  • Spring annual review meetings: The TEAM meets to develop the next IEP with updated data and feedback
  • Student re-evaluations: Conducted every 3 years or sooner if necessary
  • Reconvene: The TEAM can reconvene at any time that issues arise and work together to put a plan in place
