Project Brief

The Green Earth Movement (G.E.M) aims to promote sustainability and environmental awareness through the creation and distribution of eco-friendly products. This project focuses on producing high-quality biodegradable bamboo cups as alternatives to traditional single-use plastic products.

  • As people become more aware of the environmental impact of plastic and paper cups, the demand for eco-friendly alternatives is rising.�
  • Bamboo are more used in house interior in Malaysia while others countries are more used in making bamboo utensils. This makes Malaysia has the potential market of producing bamboo utensils.�

The third highest factor that will influence consumers is the durability of the cup while 33 respondents think that health and safety will affect their choice when purchasing a bamboo cup. Lastly, only 24 respondents think that environmental impact will affect their choice when buying a bamboo cup.

Moreover, 6 respondents rated 2 out of 5, and 3 respondents rated 1 out of 5, which means they are unlikely to recommend others to buy bamboo cups.

Based on the bar chart, the majority of the respondents are interested in customizable bamboo cups as the customizable cups are personalised and unique. Furthermore, 10 out of 63 respondents feel neutral towards customizable bamboo cups as they might feel that it does not affect them much.
