Mountain Valley Pipeline erosion and sediment controls continue to fail polluting the waterways of endangered fishes and disregards federal restrictions
The documentation in this presentation was taken on May 4, 2021 after 0.7 inches of rain. It had been approximately 1-2 hours since the rain had stopped. MVP had conducted erosion and sediment maintenance as well as fixing the access road before this rain event. Yet this documentation shows that their efforts continue to fail, due to MVP ignoring the warnings of scientists and engineers to conduct a new storm water drainage analysis using an Order 1 Soil Survey with ground truthing to revise their erosion and sediment controls.
MVP Sediment polluted water going through culvert on Cove Hollow Rd downstream:
Polluted water from MVP watershed merging with clean water from different watershed:
The pollution from MVP’s watershed that goes under Yellow Finch lane before merging with the watershed from the corridor:
Nonpoint source pollution from MVP entering waterway by corridor:
Logs and felled trees remain in stream
MVP’s nonpoint source pollution going under silt socks on the way to the stream:
Nonpoint source pollution coming off MVP corridor into Yellow Finch lane on the way to the stream
MVP erosion and sediment controls failing on corridor:
Water is clear upstream from MVP corridor
