What is ZTC?

Zero Textbook Cost

  • When a class is labeled as ZTC (Zero Textbook Cost) that means any required textbook can be accessed online for free, or that there isn't a required textbook assigned for the class.
  • Students won't be required to purchase a textbook for the class.
  • The district is required by the State to label all ZTC sections in the class schedule (SB 1359).

Equity & Student Success

  • In July 2018, a study from the University of Georgia was published that demonstrated that all students in OER classes saw increased grades, but that the increase was greater for students on financial aid and from traditionally underrepresented populations.
