  • Khaki shorts (athletic shorts discouraged)
  • Inside protector (EPBA loaned)
  • Indicator, plate brush (EPBA supplied)
  • Shins ( EPBA loaned)
  • Short billed black plain umpires cap (umpire supplied)
  • Belt, supporter/protector (umpire supplied)
  • Ball bag ( EPBA Supplied)
  • Mask (EPBA supplied)
  • Athletic shoes (no flip flops)

ENTRY LEVEL UMP – FIRST YEAR NOTES

  • EPBA will supply plate brush, indicator, polos, ball bags
  • EPBA will loan masks, protectors, and shins
    • To be returned as appropriate after the umpire leaves the program
    • Long term umps keep the equipment
  • Umpire must procure own plain black short billed umpiring cap
  • Backwards facing logo caps are not allowed
  • Umpires should wear their own protectors (cup) that they use for baseball games
  • Catchers can use their own equipment
  • Khaki shorts are preferred
  • Athletic shorts are passable. Logos not preferred
  • Grey pants are optional only (will need next year)

SOURCING NOTES

  • Scheels has some umpire equipment
  • General Sports is best but most expensive, and really for upper level umpires
  • Amazon is most convenient and cheapest can be found
  • Some umpire caps are fitted – others flex fit
  • Logo caps are not allowed
  • Caps worn backwards facing is not allowed
  • Baseball warehouse (Google for it)
  • Always can try facebook/ebay for pants
  • Grey pants typically need to be hemmed – If this path, may want to leave length for growth
