Sam Hyde
By Anthony Lopez
Sam Hyde was born in Rhode Island. He went to Carnegie Mellon during early 2000 for one year and would later go to Rhode Island School of Design. Acquired a BA(Bachelor of the Arts) in film, animation, and video. He was most known for creating his art brand Million Dollar Extreme. It would later turn into a comedy troupe with the same name. Sam Hyde has created shirts designs, web designs, and also has done free leasing for other people. Has been interviewed from Buzzfeed and Mike from Mic.com. Sam’s inspirations are Andy Warhol,Edie Sedgwick, and Vincent Gallows.
Sam Hyde has done many graphic art designs for his brand. This one is used at the start of some of his videos. The retro red background has a cyberpunk aesthetic to it. The silver is made more louder when layered on the same image.
This one is very basic and direct. The bright white constaring with the bright red with his brand name proudly displayed catches your attention with such loud colors.
Sam Hyde’s tv show “World Peace” that airs every Friday at 11:15pm on Adult Swim shows custom made intros made from Hyde that sets the tone of each episode. Ep 1’s intro caughts new viewers off guard with a false first impression of a intro that would be for something else. Ep2’s intro catches your attention and is very fast, hard hitting never takes a break. While Ep3 and Ep4’s intro are more chilled and relaxed, more routine kind for the type of show it is.
Why I choose Sam.
Sam’s type of style is very unique and like no others. Sam’s type of art is very basic and easy and people can sometimes replicate it but he has a certain aesthetic that mesh together with other styles in a very cool and colorful way. Sam’s art is something that this slide can not do justice for. He has put hours of work in all different types of art that should be viewed from everybody at least once.
Sam’s influence
Sam has influenced many to create their own pieces of art. He preaches that people should be proud in the things they create and continue to keep creating no matter if it’s good or bad. He has always advocated for a free market of art where it can fail or succeed. Art to Sam is something that expresses people’s philosophy, politics, or emotions and that should always be analysed and interpreted because their is infinite possibles in seeing art. Sam continues on his mission with his small following to push the conditioning of what art is and can be. He is writing a book that will go more in depth about art coming out this Winter.
