Strengthening Fundraising Accountability at Ekal USA

The primary role of Ekal USA is to raise funds in support of Ekal’s programs in India. While the President and national leadership remain focused on overall revenue targets, these goals must cascade clearly through the organizational structure to ensure collective ownership and accountability.

We recognize that Ekal USA is largely a volunteer-driven organization and cannot be managed like a corporation. However, it is both reasonable and necessary to establish broad, measurable financial and engagement goals to guide chapters and leadership.

For example, setting an annual benchmark such as a 5% year-over-year increase in chapter contributions (illustrative) can help create consistency and momentum. Similarly, roles and responsibilities—especially at the chapter level—should be more clearly defined and prescriptive, while remaining flexible in execution.
