Richard Serra

  • American artist involved the Process Art Movement.
  • His father, Tony, was a Spanish native of Mallorca who worked as a candy factory foreman and in steel mills.
  • While in college Serra helped support himself by working in steel mills, which was to have a strong influence on his later work.
  • Even though Serra is well known for his metal sculpture, he has sold more 2D work.
