Ensuring Healthy Governance

• Duty of Care, Loyalty, Obedience
• Stay abreast of KASC activities through board meetings, member emails, and ask questions
• Focus on big picture

Ensuring Financial Stability

Director roles include:

• Oversight
• Promotion/Advocacy

Staff roles include:

• Implementation of policies and procedures
• Daily bookkeeping
• Analysis of monthly financial reports
• Frugality
• Collaborating with RHC accounting firm

ENSURING FINANCIAL STABILITY

OVERSIGHT

• Stewardship — Does our budget align with our mission?
• Do the financial policies and procedures provide the board and staff with enough information?

Practices in place:

• Annual financial review by committee
• Audit every 3 years
• Accounting practices monitored monthly by Robinson, Hughes, Christopher
• Monthly financial statements posted on blog

PROMOTION

• Develop relevant, necessary tools that schools will purchase
• Increase savings without cutting corners
• Increase membership (board & staff)

Leading Strategically & Serving as an Ambassador

• Collaborative development of a Strategic Plan WITH the staff
