8.1.1 The Future Perfect Tense, 1st and 2nd Conjugations
The future perfect tense is almost as regular as the pluperfect tense. Here are the steps spelled out for the verbs
ambulō, ambulāre, ambulāvī, ambulātus to walk, stroll
and
moneō, monēre, monuī, monitus to warn; to advise, inform
The translation for future perfect is will/shall have blanked.
1. Go to the 3rd principal part:
ambulāvī
monuī
2. Remove the ending:
ambulāvī > ambulāv-
monuī > monu-
3. Add the future perfect tense sign:
ambulāv- > ambulāv-eri-
monu- > monu-eri-
4. Add the active personal endings:
ambulāv-eri- > ambulāv-eri-t
monu-eri- > monu-eri-t

Sentence Translation with the Future Perfect
Once you have completed Exercise 8.1.3, complete Exercise 8.1.4. Pay close attention to the cases of each noun to determine what its role in the sentence is.
Parsing the sentences is not optional. You must parse sentences before translating. This will be a part of every future test.
When you have finished 8.1.4, go to Google Classroom and make sure you have completed the Tria Nomina assignment posted there.
Passive Infinitives
So far, you have seen active infinitives of the type:
navigare to sail
timere to fear
Now you will learn passive infinitives. To form these, just change the final -e of the 2nd principal part to an -i:
navigari to be sailed
timeri to be feared

Time Constructions
7.3.3 The Ablative of Time Constructions
Two common time constructions are expressed in Latin without the use of prepositions:
1. The Ablative of Time When—This indicates the time when an action occurs.
Tertiā hōrā mīlitēs oppugnāvērunt.
At the third hour, the soldiers attacked.
2. The Ablative of Time Within Which—This indicates the time within which an action occurs.
Nautae quīnque annīs ad Galliam nāvigābunt.
The sailors will sail to Gaul within five years.
