Organization is KEY!

  • Topics- allow teachers to organize the posts. When creating an announcement, assignment, or question, you can assign a topic and these topics act as a category for each post, which allows to be organized efficiently.
  • Due Dates- For assignments, by default there is no due date so if you want it due on a particular date, be sure you change it.
  • Dashboard/Cards- your rostered classes or classes in which you are a student
  • To Do/To Review- Students- all activities that have been assigned will appear in order of due date. Teachers- It helps you know what you need to grade and return to your students

Communication Tips

  • Parent Corner - include a note written specifically for parents.
  • Guardian Feature- guardians can get email summaries about student's activity in Classroom
  • Email Students or Guardians- send an email directly from Google Classroom
  • Email Work Summary - a summary like a paper progress report. Can be sent to guardians and students- Alice Keeler’s Blog Post
  • Stream- keep to announcements only, hide notifications.
