Webex moved to one app on the Mac. You will only see Webex Meetings populate when you are in a live meeting. It will run automatically in the background. You will not be able to log into or open Webex Meetings.

Digital Citizenship Reminders

Student Expectations

  • Students should be dressed in school-appropriate clothing.
  • Students are to continue following the LISD Code of Conduct.
  • Students should consider their environment and what can be seen during live virtual learning.
  • Messages and live virtual learning may be recorded.
  • Best practices for participating in live virtual learning:
    • Mute audio and video when entering live session.
    • Mute audio when not speaking (reduces background noise from your home).
    • If possible use a headset with a microphone to help reduce echo/feedback and improves focus.
    • Be a good Digital Citizen and use appropriate, respectful actions.
    • Listen to the educator or individual speaking.
  • Students will adhere to the expectation that no communication occurs between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Virtual Learning tools can be monitored by LISD.

If expectations are not followed, disciplinary consequences could include:

  • Suspension of live virtual learning privileges.
  • Disciplinary action in accordance with the LISD Student Code of Conduct.

Webex Teams Spaces: Chromebook

This is where you will message teachers, students, send information and assignments. This is not recommended for live virtual meeting because you will will not have all of the features as other attendees.�Please follow the Gmail instructions for those steps.

What can you do in your class General Space?

Send a text message by typing in the space. Use the paperclip to attach a document, photo or video.

Remember to be a good digital citizen.

There are no phone services enabled for any student accounts.

Also you may see a live meeting pop up in the Space for a reminder to join, please only join from your gmail link. Joining from the Team browser will give you a limited meeting experience.

Open App Launcher, then Gmail

Click on the Gmail Icon

Click to open the live virtual invite eMail from your teacher.

Log in to your Teacher’s Personal Webex Room

Do not Join as Guest

Select Sign In since all LISD staff and students have accounts.

Enter your @go.lisd.net email

It should prompt the LHub login where you need to enter your LISD username and password.

Allow Camera & Microphone

Click Allow.

You might have to do this every time you join a live meeting.

“Using Computer for Audio” is selected

JOIN Meeting will turn GREEN.

Click the JOIN Meeting.

Live Video Broadcast Tools: Chromebook

Always enter a video call with your microphone muted.

Click the camera on or off to be seen on the screen.

Click Unmute/Mute for microphone to be on or off.

Always enter a video call with your microphone muted.

The RED X will remove you from the Live meeting.

Click the emoji to raise hand and use animated emojis when permitted.

When you click Raise Hand, your teacher sees a hand by your name on her screen. This is how you will ask or answer questions. To remove your hand raise, click on it again.

Screen Share With the Class: Chromebook

Click the screen share icon. If it is greyed out, ask your teacher to make you presenter.

Click on the picture of the screen so it is highlighted in blue, then share.

You might have a small box in the bottom right hand corner showing you are sharing your screen.

To stop sharing, click the share icon.

Teacher Ends Live Virtual Class

Your teacher will end your Live Virtual Class and you will be taken to this screen.

Make sure to log off Webex after your Live Virtual Learning if you share a device.

Click your profile and select click Sign Out.
