Reminders

  • By now, everyone should be aware of the usual reminders
    • No food in lecture rooms - thank you for respecting this from day 1
    • Track 1 QC talks are held alongside Track 3 presentations, lecture hall 1
    • Otherwise Tracks 1 in this Theater + Track 2 in Lecture hall 2
    • Rooms are ALL in the same area including lunch (Zodiac) so all conveniently placed
    • Building locks automagically at 20:00 (8:00 PM) and Theater opens at 8:30 (AM)
    • Special meals at the end of the table (or ask attendant) �
  • BoF - Birds-of-a-Feather sessions interest
    • Please contact Jim Pivarski pivarski@princeton.edu

    • Intent to handle this tomorrow�
  • Poster - Poster today MUST be removed by the end of the day to allow tomorrow’s poster session to hang theirs early morning Thursday.

Issues

  • Technical issues yesterday with zoom, will attempt to �get this smoothed out today�
  • Issue: we had a glitch for group ticket - sorry!
    • LIRR were supposed to know and gather people in reserved cars
    • Our contact at LIRR NYC told us to ask everyone to explain to the conductor on the way back to SB that their return group ticket was accidentally punched on the way to NYC. But we were informed yesterday only.
    • We sent an Email to all attendees on what do do (show the ticket, note the conductor it was erroneously punched, show ACAT badge) but this may have or may not have worked.
    • LIRR staff was informed (seems everyone made it)�
  • Hope everyone (still) had a good time in NYC

Events today!

  • We will have a group picture today at 13:00 (1:00 PM) �outside the Wang center at the end of the morning session�& before lunch. Will remind everyone �
  • Tonight is the conference dinner / banquet
  • BUS logistics
    • Buses will DEPART at 18:30 (6:30 PM) starting right outside the Wang Center
    • Please be on-time for your session (ending at 18:10 - you do not have much flexibility (suggest if running late to move talks to the next day)
    • For the return: there will be a sign in one of the bus windows to bring people from The WaterView to The Holiday Inn. The 2 other buses will be back to the Wang Center.
    • Return will be announced at dinner - return before 22:00

Location of the LightHouse - question asked

  • Where is the light house shown on the ACAT poster?
  • The lighthouse is the Robert Moses State park and known as the Fire Island lighthouse. 35-40 minutes by car from the Wang Center & on your way to JFK
    • There is a boardwalk that is quite pleasant on a Sunny day - �small museum is free (Fresnel lens on display)
    • You can climb it and have a 360 view of Long Island from that point
