“It’s really difficult to be what you can’t see.”
Wednesday, for me, was the most creative and fun day I have had yet. Learning how to make LED flowers and other things was not only interesting, but exciting.
When I first signed up for this camp, I thought we would all have to do the same thing, and we wouldn't be doing any arts and crafts. But when I realized we could basically do whatever we wanted...I thought about how much I wanted to come back next year.
THURSDAY: Today was a really nice day, The most fun part was probably doing the
challenges with the different electronic parts. It definitely was a learning experience, especially when it came to the bonuses and there were no instructions or pictures for you to follow. I also liked the coding, because I have never done it before. Last year, my technology teacher at school offered us two options for a class project, and coding was one of them. But I chose the other choice because I thought coding was hard and boring, but it definitely wasn't.
I also enjoyed watching the 3D printer and pen work, because I have never seen one make something before. I didn't have time to make anything with either one of them because we had to go do something else...but hopefully I will be given the chance tomorrow:)
Thursday: Today was a fun day we got to see a 3D printer. Its really cool. We did hour of coding for a little bit. I also got to play with circuits. That was really fun. WE made lights light up by pressure, light, time, and sound. WE did challenges which were fun. Then we had lunch which was okay. The rest of the afternoon we got to chooses what we could. I made a prototype for the 3D printer I made part of an cupcake with a 3D pen.
MONDAY: We spent most of today exploring computer apps. I learned how to generally work with Scratch 2, and found out about coding, which I previously knew about, but didn't have any skills in.
We based all of our lessons on expressing ourselves and getting comfortable with other people and computers.
Some of the unfamiliar lessons were somewhat confusing, but since we were just having fun, we all could explore and learn different skills based on what we trying to accomplish.
TUESDAY: Today was a lot more interesting, all because I knew everyone and could easily make friends.
Because of this, I enjoyed doing more things and wasn't so nervous. We did more challenging things today, but all of it was entertaining.
I HAD SO MUCH FUN TODAY AT TECH SAVVY GIRLS. I liked all of our activities today. My favorite part about today was probably scratch.
After we did that we did Geocaching. We did not find what we were looking for. Yesterday Morning at camp I lost my tooth. This afternoon I made duck tape flowers with bridgette . We made them light up. I had a lot of fun today. I hope we get to do some of this stuff again!
Thursday- We did some coding on the computer and that was really fun. I liked it because you can make them do what you want and the games that you can do are really fun. I liked making my 3-D printed thing on the computer. Its cool how you can make something on the computer and you can print it in 3-D. We played with little bits and that was really fun because you can put different peaces together and make them do cool things.
I started TechSavvy Girls Camp 15 years ago to give rural girls the opportunity to experience technology in ways they might not have imagined before -- like it -- and want to do more!
