Understanding
the user
User research: summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for their needs. A primary user group identified through research was adults and teens who like Anime.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about Anime Figure's customers, but research also revealed that buying Anime Figure in their home country was not the only factor limiting. Other user problems included area, Anime Figure type, or shipping which make it difficult to buy anime figures around the world.
User research: pain points
Area
It is hard to buy different kinds of anime figures in user home country
Upcoming

User journey map
Mapping Jojo user journey revealed how helpful it would be for users to have access to a dedicated anime figures shopping app.
Starting
the design
Paper wireframes
Taking the time to draft iterations of each screen of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points. For the home screen, I prioritized a quick and easy to search and use AI chat.
Stars were used to mark the elements of each sketch that would be used in the initial digital wireframes.
Digital wireframes
As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base screen designs on feedback and findings from the user research.
This button at the top of the home screen makes it fast and easy for users to open the each menu.
The text AIChat and Communities allow user to view the three main theme of the app.
Digital wireframes
Easy navigation was a key user need to address in the designs in addition to equipping the app to work with assistive technologies.
Easy access the information of the anime figures.
Low-fidelity prototype
Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype. The primary user flow I connected was building and shopping app, so the prototype could be used in a usability study.

Usability study: findings
I conducted two rounds of usability studies. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.
Users want know how to use the APP
1
Users want more information about anime figures
2
Users want a know the upcoming date

Refining
the design
Mockups
Early designs allowed for some customization, but after the usability studies, I added an additional post-anime picture.

Mockups
The second usability study user wants the image for each ingredient in the recipe. So, I add an image and more information about the figures.
