HEROES FOR HABITATS

Designers will create a garment that represents a South Florida habitat environmental issue with a supernatural/hero stylized twist!

GUIDELINES

    • Couture style garment

(think Prom or the Met Gala, not Halloween)

    • Garments must be made of 75% recycled material
    • Men’s, Women’s and Non binary wear welcome
    • Deadlines, Workshops, Meetups - Dates Coming Soon!
    • Work solo or in a team
    • Solo designers cannot model their own garment
    • Designers are responsible for securing a model
    • Must acquire model measurements before starting

GUIDELINES

    • Concept, Mood Board, and Recycled Materials must be approved by Ms. Sue before you start your garment.
    • Each garment should use a unique recycled material.
    • No garments can have the same main material.

(Materials are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis)

    • Must represent a South Florida habitat environmental issue (i.e.: Everglades, Florida Bay, Coral Reefs, Coastal Areas, Habitat Loss, Invasive Species, Water pollution, Climate Change, Septic Systems, etc.)
    • Recycled materials must be collected, not bought

GUIDELINES

    • Must have at least 4 “touch-base” meetings with Ms. Sue
    • Designers must stay in touch - return texts, emails and calls
    • This is a judged competition. Winners will be on display.
    • You do earn service hours for your garments.
    • Please keep track of the hours you work and report to Ms. Sue.
    • Hours will be signed off after April 12th.
    • You must recruit your own model.
    • Models will also earn service hours for their time.
    • Opportunity to exhibit garment at ArtServe (TBA)
