    • MUST pass the Reading, Writing and Math Essential Skills
    • This is waived for your class.

  • Log into Maia Learning to research post-high school options & sign up for college visits. (Quick Links on the CHS website; sign in with Google- no password needed)

  • Look on college websites- do virtual visits, watch for in-person opportunities!

Important for College Preparation

Junior year grades are important!

  • ACT and SAT College Exams?
    • More and more schools are Test Optional
    • Take the SAT at CHS March 5 (all juniors are auto-registered)
    • Practice Khan Academy & Oregon CIS

  • 4-year colleges do not accept D’s in core classes. Enroll in credit recovery to get back on track:
    • Night & Summer School or Virtual Scholars

  • Check your PPS email regularly for updates

�When Forecasting, Remember to...

  • Check Graduation Status in “Course History” on StudentVUE to confirm credits

  • Consider prerequisites and graduation requirements

  • Seniors must forecast for minimum of six classes; you can have up to 2 Open Periods, they will be assigned period 1, 4, 5, or 8.

  • Consider your interests and goals
    • 2 or 4-year College / Trade School / Apprenticeship / Job / Gap Year / Military

  • We recommend four years of Math, Science and as much World Language as possible.
      • For more info about math, check out this 2024 slideshow.

    • California Universities and University of Washington require one year of Fine Arts. Check college websites!!!

Forecast Planner�Use this as a worksheet to make online entry easier

  • Complete the 11th Grade Forecasting Planner before you complete the Online Course Requests

  • Input (type/write) the name of each class in the form

  • You’ll need multiple alternate classes in order of preference

  • Go to the Forecast Fair - February 6 & 7

  • Use the Course Guide research course descriptions
