2023-2024 Budget Highlights

  • Parents Night Out Dinner + Silent Auction
    • We’ve made almost $3,000 so far - just from the dinner event
    • This amount does not include ticket sales: those are categorized as expenses to offset that category
    • Still gathering reimbursement requests, but so far we’re on track to stay within budget for expenses
    • Online auction ends tomorrow, so we’ll have more numbers then - keep checking and bidding!

  • Employer Matching Donations
    • we have $1,700 in this category so far this year - over budget so far, which is a good thing in an income category!

  • Photo Booth Update
    • Approved budget was $4,000 - spend was less than $3,500
    • First rental was this weekend - we made back our first $300

BUDGET PROPOSAL:

State Books for Library

PROPOSAL: $2,569.84 (for vote at March meeting)

In our Chabot library we currently have two books for every State in the union (a few might have three). Every one of these books is copyright dated 1991 and 1996. In other words, they are OLD! We have wanted to replace them over the years, but the cost would use up almost all our district funds.

In the attached spreadsheet, you'll find the cost quote on one tab and the list of books on the other tab. These sets were chosen for a few reasons:

1. They come from the supplier we already use (Follett), so they will be already labeled, come library binded (sturdier) and are easily integrated into our library.

2. One set is copyrighted 2019 and the other is 2023. So they are nice and new.

3. One set is geared toward upper elementary, the other lower elementary.

The Lower Grade set description: Take a colorful journey across the nation with Explore the U.S.A. Learn the geography, history, symbols, and interesting facts that make each state special. Explore the U.S.A. introduces beginning readers to the United States of America through vivid images and engaging text, giving them an exciting look at the places that make up this great country. Explore the U.S.A. is a series of AV2 media enhanced books. A unique book code printed on page 2 unlocks multimedia content. These books come alive with video, audio, weblinks, slide shows, activities, hands-on experiments, And much more.

The Upper Grade set description: From Hawaii to Maine, and Minnesota to Texas, the United States is full of exciting places. Each state has its own climate, geography, economy, population, and rich history. Core Library of US States shows readers what makes each state unique!
