Paper Solicitation

Techniques

Clarify the focus area overall objectives to narrow down topics for papers.

Attending TRB webinars throughout the year to gain knowledge of GIS work being done. Attending webinars (or conferences) will give you a network of GIS Professionals doing work relating to the focus area.

Attend Webinars

Getting involved in professional networks like URISA, GISCI, Women in GIS, NSGIC and state geographic information councils will give you an arena for advertising paper ideas for TRB.

Professional Networks

The AASHTO GIS-T Conference in April of each year always has a TRB SIG. This is a good place to meet colleagues and get informed on work being done around the country. Engage with presenters to find commonalities in focus areas.

GIS-T Tracks

AED40 has connections with many other committees in TRB and a list of committee liaisons to use to collaborate with other committees and partner up to solicit paper submissions.
