Linked Data for ID vs cataloguing

Easier to apply Linked Data technologies to an ID service than cataloguing

  • authority style data sets are generally small
  • mature data models (SKOS) and related tooling

To move towards Linked Data in cataloguing, we need transitional technologies

  • Linky MARC with $0/$1 URIs
  • generated MARC authority records for ILS use�
