    • Log in to your LEA Instance of Schoology.
    • Click the arrow next to your name in the upper right-hand corner.
    • Click on Settings.
    • Click on Link Account.
    • Enter the username and password of the account you want to link.
    • Both accounts will appear
    • To switch between accounts, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner and click on the arrow. The green check mark will show which instance you are in.

5. Click the Grades tab. You can download the Student Report. It will displace a list of the student’s grades.

6. Click each course for grade details.

  1. Log in to accessvl.schoology.com

2. Go to TOOLS>>ADVISOR DASHBOARD

3. Search the name of the student (type first or last name)

4. A summary of the student’s current courses will show.

“PRIVATE ACCESS” ERROR MESSAGE

Students will get this error, if they try to access Materials but have not completed the Student Orientation activities in each course.

Students must complete BOTH of the following activities:

    • ACCESS Student Orientation Acknowledgment
    • Student Information

Students will download, complete the Student Information sheet, save, and submit the completed assignment before Materials will be available.

Students must do this for each ACCESS course they take.

STRUGGLING STUDENT TIPS

    • If students are struggling, and need assistance with getting back on track, please reach out to the Support Center.
    • We are happy to set up/attend conferences-both in person and virtual with struggling/failing students.
    • Check the Unit Checklist and begin working on assignments with the most points to bring grade up quickly.

Reach out to their coach if the student is on a team.

Provide early or late testing for the student.

Pull the student from a class they are passing.

BEGINNING KINESIOLOGY

Requires students to complete the Physical Fitness Test on campus with a P.E. teacher trained in APFA test administration.

CAREER PREPAREDNESS

Counselors will need to provide students with login information to Alabama Career Planning System website.

A component of the CTE courses must be completed on the school’s campus. The LEA is responsible for giving the CRI Assessment for CTE courses.

HEALTH EDUCATION

Requires the school to provide hands-on CPR & AED training to students enrolled in the course. (Facilitators must request the password from the teacher once the hands-on CPR & AED training has been completed by the student.)

US GOVERNMENT & CIVICS ASSESSMENT

A component of the Government Course must be completed on the school's campus. The LEA is responsible for giving the Civics Assessment for High School Government courses.

LEA COURSE REQUIREMENTS

    • Student completes Student Orientation: Acknowledgement Quiz AND Student Information Sheet

    • Student takes Unit 1 Test. (NOTE: Password must be entered by Facilitator.)

    • After taking the Unit 1 Test, the student may move on to Unit 2, regardless of score.
      • Students must move through the Term in order, but can take all pretests without earning a passing score.

    • If a student scores a 350 after their first 2 attempts, the teacher will excuse ALL of the assignments for that unit and enter the score in the Test Passed column in their Gradebook. (This item is unpublished, and not visible to students.)

CREDIT RECOVERY

    • Each unit consists of 1,000 points.
      • If student passes pretest after first 2 attempts: Pretest (500 points) + Test Passed (500 points)
      • If student does NOT pass pretest after first 2 attempts: Pretest (500 points) + Unit Lessons (500 points)
    • If a student scores less than 350 after their first 2 attempts, the student may choose to move on to the next unit or submit work in the current unit.
      • Student may request a third attempt at the Unit Test by messaging their teacher.
      • There will be NO work requirement before 3rd attempt is granted.
      • Unit work may NOT be excused if the first 2 attempts are 325 or lower.
    • Earning a 350 or higher on subsequent attempts does NOT excuse the unit’s work!

Please follow your school district’s policy on reporting any content where a student may harm themselves or someone else.

COMMUNICATION

Teachers

Reach out to the teachers with names of students that you facilitate, times of day you have students in class, school calendar, etc.

When communicating with absent students, please do so using ACCESS Schoology Messenger.

Please follow your school district’s policy on communicating with parents electronically.

Include as much information as possible, student name, course name, teacher name, issue the student is having and any screenshots, if available.

ACCOMMODATIONS

As the facilitator, it is your responsibility to communicate with the ACCESS teacher concerning any school-based accommodations that need to be made for the student(s). This includes but not limited to large-font/screen enhancement, read aloud tests, etc.

Accommodations are processed through PowerSchool Special Programs.

If a student has accommodations and not receiving them, please contact the Support Center.

Please monitor expiration dates and upload any new documents as needed.

Each August accommodations must be uploaded again as the system is wiped clean in July.

Once the accommodation is uploaded, the ALSDE program will trigger the MC Support Center to send a Persons Responsible form that teachers must sign.

Please make sure you are familiar with the student’s accommodations.

ACCESS UNIT TESTS & TERM EXAMS

    • Request passwords from ACCESS teacher.
    • Do NOT share the passwords with the students.
    • Facilitators should enter the passwords for tests & exams.
    • Tests should be completed during class time.
    • Ensure students click the submit button before leaving class.
    • Term exams are part of the coursework.
    • Unit tests and term exams must be completed before school ends on the last day of the course.
    • If students are testing with you after school hours, please send the teacher an email, so the student is not flagged for cheating.
