Metal Parts

Many of the bicycles worked on through the Bike Kitchen and the Bike Co-op’s programs are perfect habitats for tetanus bacteria. Adults are generally advised to get a tetanus vaccine every 10 years; if you do not remember when your last tetanus vaccine was, it is not harmful to get another one before 10 years have elapsed. It is recommended that all new employees check their vaccination records or get a new tetanus vaccine. Students can get free vaccines at the Student Health Centre at the UBC Hospital.
