What’s the plan?

High School students create a plan to graduate…

It doesn’t just happen.

The plan can change and grow, but thinking ahead is essential!

  • Every class, grade, and unit will determine a student’s options available after high school

Personalized Options Program

  • Students choose the content they study within the courses
    • example: Poetry or Short Stories in English

  • Opts is short for OPTIONS (or choice). Most courses have 6 choices but students will choose 3 of those options for each course of study.
    • example: In English, a student may have Poetry, Surviving the Unimaginable and The Teenage Brain

  • The year is broken up into Sprints. There are 6 Sprints that are 26 days long.
    • This means a years’ worth of English 1 will be done in 3 Sprints or equivalent to one semester.

  • Students work on 3 courses at a time for better focus time.

  • There are also X-Opts which are one Sprint long (26 days) that are high interest or interventions.
    • example: Adulting 101 or Art Appreciation
