How to edit the length of a clip!

Once you are in the movie you can adjust the length of your clips.

When kids film get them used to pushing record and then counting to 4 before you start the scene, this way you can edit the start and end without losing what they are doing.

When you touch on the clip or photo it turns it yellow at each end. If you hold down and drag it, it will cut the length of the clip. It will remove whatever you drag it over.

MUST DO’s FOR YOUR FILM

  • No background noise, film where it is quiet and when it is not windy. If you need to record speaking over your video.
  • Hold ipad in landscape every time. Cannot use video in portrait.
  • The best videos are still, try not to follow a character with the ipad. Let the character move.
  • Press record, count to 3 before you start your scene. You need to be able to edit.
  • Delete mistakes as you go otherwise you end up with sooooo many videos and it takes time to go through.
  • Film in scenes/little parts. Do a part and then stop and then do the next part. You edit together in imovie.

FRIDAY: TASK 1 - Camera Angles

Using the ipads or your chromebooks you need to take a photo of the shot angles on the previous slide.

Make a slide and insert each photo into it with a label of what camera angle it is.

Then have a go at the camera movements. Which of these can you try and use in your movie? Insert two examples into your slide.
