What is different about Close Call at Tristan Da Cunha?

  • Te taki is written from a Maori point of view

  • Te Taki is set on beach in New Zealand

  • The story is about the challenge Maori make when meeting strangers.

  • Tutama has to make decision to stay and greet the strangers or run and get the adults.

  • It ends with three dots … with Tutama having issued a challenge. Its nots finished

  • The purpose is the same because they both written to entertain (because they are fictional stories) but also to inform about the time when Europeans arrived in NZ in the 1800s.

Teh text - it has more complicated than a picture book. But not as hard words as an adult book and not so many.; So would you go to it for history - no because its only based on history. You would want to go to something else - to the history part of the library , Type in a keyword like - NZ History is a good website
