The Great Egg Drop Experiment

Your challenge is to create a contraption that will protect an egg inside of it.  Oh, did we mention that we are dropping it from the roof of the school?

Groups

You will be in a group with one other student from each classroom.

 

For example;

Team Scrambled Eggs

Student #1 is from Mrs. Weinberger's Class

Student #2 is from Ms. Gallenberger’'s Class

Student #3 is from Mr. Wiard's Class

Materials- Your team will be allowed to choose items.  You will have to decide what you would like to take to build your contraption.

Here is a list of the following supplies you can “purchase” at the "GREAT EGG DROP SUPERMARKET".

  • cardboard
  • string
  • plastic bags
  • bubble wrap
  • paper towel and tp rolls

Here is a list of free items you will be able to use.

  • tape
  • glue
  • scissors
  • pencils
  • paper

Step 1- Planning            

Use a piece of paper to draw a diagram of your Egg Drop design.  You will need to have a detailed drawing, with labels, of your design and list all of the materials you will be needing.

Step 2- Building Days

Today you will have time to build your contraption.
