Our country covers an area of over 64,000 km², with a population of 1.9 million. The capital city of country is Riga, but our city Daugavpils is the second largest city in Latvia.

There’re one of the fastest WiFi speeds in the world.

Latvia is famous for its beer, beautiful women, lakes, nature and bread.

Latvia is among the world's greenest countrie, forests are taking about 52% of Latvia’s territory.

Latvia lies in Northern Europe, on the eastern shores of the Baltic Sea. Is bordered by Estonia to the north, Lithuania to the south, Russia to the east, Belarus to the southeast.

Latvian flag is one of the oldest in the world.

Daugavpils

Daugavpils is exceptionally rich in red brick buildings. This style was developed by many outstanding architects.

• Daugavpils is a state city in south-eastern Latvia, located on the banks of the Daugava River, from which the city gets its name.

Our town was established in 1275, this year it will be 748 years old.

• Daugavpils is located close to Belarus and Lithuania borders.

The most prominent is Daugavpils fortress dating mostly from the 18th and 19th centuries.

In April 2013 the Mark Rothko Art centre was opened in the fortress.

Our school events and traditions

• 100- dniówka- 100 days untill the exams in 12th grade. Usually 11th grade performs, supports and wishes them success.

​

• Tłusty czwartek the last Thursday before the lent. Students can eat doughnuts and sweets because later it will forbidden to eat a lot of food for around one month.

Mikołajki- 6th December.

The Day of Holly Mikolaj. Students from high school dress up and act like Santa and his assistants. They give small presents to primary and secondary school students. There is a dress code on this day, everyone has to be dressed in red or have Santas red hats.

Our current flag started to be used since 1911, after the monarchy’s fall in 1910 and the rising of a republican political system.

Portugal exists as a country since the 12th century and our first king was called Afonso the 1st.

• Portugal is one of the countries in Europe with older and stable borders, since medieval times.

• Lisbon is our capital city since the 13th century with King Afonso the 3rd.

• We had about eight centuries of monarchy and we have a republic since 1910.

Lisbon

• Lisbon has an urban area of 100,05 km² and counts with 545 796 inhabitants.
• It’s the biggest city of Portugal, it’s the political center where the government has seat, as well as the official residence of our President. It’s also the seat of the Comunity of Countries of Portugueses Language. Lisbon is the capital city more to the West in European continent in Atlantic coast.
• Its first name could have been “Olissipo”, because Tejo banks were already known by Fenitians and Greeks in centuries b.C., that went there to do business with people of Lisbon. Actually there are archeological traces of human presence in Lisbon since Neolitic, much before those civilizations came to us, but Romans and Musslims, who took Lisbon by invasions to enlarge their empires, had a very important presence in our city and left many cultural traces.
• Most of its urbanism, especially in downtown, was renovated in the 18th century because of a terrible natural catastrophe: many things were destroyed by an earthquake followed by a tsunamy and fires. Almost everything had to be rebuilted and Lisbon became one of the more modern cities of Europe at the time.

Lisbon is located in the center of Portugal and is our capital city, located on the banks of the Tejo River. Like Rome, it has 7 hills.

• Founded in 1999, our school is proud of being located in the arquitectonic complex of the Lumiar counts and Pisani’s palace. Lumiar was a place where nobles of Lisbon came to relax in the 18th and 19th century like if they were in the countryside, so we are not located in the center of Lisbon.

​

• We receive children since they start to walk until they become adolescents. We teach since pre-school until secondary.

​

• In the main building we have pre-school and primary school students. In “Quinta do Pisani” we have highschool with students that attend 2nd and 3rd grade and secondary school.

• Our main goal is to give our students the tools and the necessary skills to find their own vocation and talents, to follow their dreams and convictions. We focus on the person, not only in the professional future.
• We are a non religious educational private institution with a strong multicultural component, with students from 18 different nationalities. We strongly believe that socialization between different cultures can be a very important experience for our students in a world in permanent change, because it increases the adaptation sense.
• 400 students attend our school. We teach the regular curriculum in Portugal, but we have complementary educational offers like Mandarin and Enterpeneurship between the 4th and the 9th grade.
• We have Ballet classes and a Music School where children can learn instruments like piano or classical guitar. We have special events to show their skills to community.

• We bet a lot in language learning, like German, Mandarin, Spanish and English. We have two native speaker English teachers.

Here we have some peace of last school year finalists trip to Paris (9th and 12th graders), a picnic and stroll through Sintra and visits to VanGogh, Viking and Roman exhibits.

Here we have some piece of Roman and Renaiscence feasts; celebrating the Students day with multicultural activities like “Holi”, the indian festival of colours where people literally throw vivid coloured powders to celebrate the joy of living; Christmas and summer feasts plenty of different activities.
