• After release of the Orange County Child Care Landscape Scan,

cities were interested in city-level data

• In response, First 5 Orange County analyzed city-level data for La Habra

​

• Mirroring the county-level report, this report includes the following for data the City of La Habra:
• Population of infant/toddler and preschool age children
• Demographics and family income/working status
• Child care capacity relative to the population of young children
• Economic impact of child care in La Habra

Supply of infant/toddler care is consistent with Orange County as a whole.

Supply of licensed care for preschool-age children is quite low relative to Orange County as a whole.

It is also important to note, Universal TK is impacting providers.

• Vacancies/Unused Slots (Point in Time - as of June 2022)

• 163 families (more than 275 children) were on the wait list during same point in time
• Possible reasons: workforce/staffing challenges, available slots not accessible to families needing care (cost, location, etc.)
• Universal TK is also impacting providers significantly
