PYRAMIDS
A pyramid is a solid in which we have square at the bottom and triangles all around..
Instead of square, the base can be some other rectangle, triangle, or any other polygon
The sides of a polygon forming the base of a pyramid are called base edges, and other sides of a triangles are called lateral edges. The topmost point of a pyramid is called apex.
HEIGHT AND SLANT HEIGHT
Within every square pyramid we can imagine a right triangle with perpendicular sides as the height of the pyramid and half the base edge and hypotenuse as the slant height.
AREA OF PYRAMID
Area of pyramid = Area of base square + Area of 4 triangles
VOLUME OF PYRAMID
Volume of pyramid is equal to a third of the product of the base area and the height.
