Community Action Projects

Through 3 phases of Discovery, Design & Delivery, students work with a local organization that Program Coordinators have previously researched to initiate a community action project. The projects are in partnership with the local organization and are feasible and hands-on learning opportunities for the students to support local community development initiatives. This could look like restoring a community park or even helping to build a school.

The Application

Usually, travel EP applications are due earlier compared to others. For us, this took place primarily during Winter break and the beginning of January.

​

The most time consuming part is 6 essays,

each 150-300 words. You’ll receive support from a writing coach who will give you feedback, helping to write 2-3 drafts of each response.

No need to worry!

​

The prompts greatly allow you to showcase your identity. But GG also wants to know how you work in a group and adjust to new experiences and surroundings.

Tips and Tricks

  1. Keep your application materials organized!

  • Try to stay on top of deadline and communicate if you can’t!

​

  • Remember that a travel EP is more than just fun, it’s also an amazing learning experience!
