SAP Plant Maintenance

How to De-activate

a Maintenance item

(scenario, to maintain the maintenance plan header but wish to de-activate the existing maintenance item and create a new maintenance item)

2 of 20

Maintenance item 880 is unique for Maintenance Plan 281.

3 of 20

Maintenance item already life and scheduled

In our example here, I would like to try to see if we can keep the maintenance plan 281, create another maintenance item here and de-activate maintenance item 880

4 of 20

First, Create new Maintenance Item here

5 of 20

A new Maintenance item is being created and SAVE it.

6 of 20

A new TAB appears

7 of 20

If you select to highlight a maintenance item, you can click this ICON to ‘Cancel maintenance item’

8 of 20

Note the Item Overview TAB not longer available and the existing MP only remains the new Maintenance item 884

But where to find the Maintenace item 880 (the original one) which was ‘cancelle’ or ‘disconnected’ from the MP

9 of 20

The old maintenance item can be found here

10 of 20

Here you can find maintenance item master data but not the history of its maintenance scheduling

11 of 20

IP18 is another report that can view Maintennace item that were disconnected or assigned to an MP

12 of 20

Click this ‘without’ if you want to see all Maintenance item not assigned to any MP

Click this ‘with’ if you want to see all Maintenance item assigned to any MP

Click this ‘with or without’ if you want to see all Maintenance item assigned or disconnected to any MP

13 of 20

Not Maintenance item 880 (the old one) is seen not connected to any MP

Not Maintenance item 884 (the new one) is seen connected to any MP

In this example, I executed the report using selection

‘with or without’

14 of 20

Use IP24 to list display the disconnected Maintenace item 880’s history scheduling

15 of 20

Since I have only one called MO in this MP, you an now see only one MO in this report

16 of 20

For technical interest, you can even re-assign the disconnected Maintenance item to the same MP or to another MP header (it its strategy Plan, of course the Strategy of task list must be the same as the MP Strategy)

17 of 20

18 of 20

Note Maintenance Item re-conncected to its existing MP

19 of 20

Note old Maintenance Item now re-connected to the old MP

Our next simulation is

to disconnect Maintenance item 880 again and

test scheduling with the new Maintennce item 884

20 of 20

Note the old histories of the previous maintenace item scheuling is still registered when you access IP10

Yet to find a method to purge this.

Therefore, technically speaking if the Old Maint.item = New Maint.item, the ‘New Start’ action will have similar results
