What is GaTutor?

GaTutor is groundbreaking program powered by Georgia Virtual Learning (GAVS). Georgia-certified teachers with solid content area expertise provide one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored for each individual student.

Best of all, it's entirely free! GaTutor offers flexibility for students, with tutoring sessions available outside of regular school hours. Students select the dates and times that work best for them, making academic success more accessible than ever!

What do I need for tutoring?

★ You will need something specific to work on during your tutoring session (like a specific topic, practice problems, etc.).

★ You may need to be logged into your CCSD account through� Classlink during the session.

★ The purpose of tutoring is for:

  • Concept Understanding

  • Confusion Resolution
  • Difficult Material Review
  • Resource Recommendations

Important Things to Remember

★ This is a free opportunity for high school students in Georgia only.

★ Tutors are certified teachers from varying schools in Georgia.

Tutors are prohibited from doing assignments, projects, or coursework for you.

★ If you schedule a session, make sure you show up. Repeated failure to show up to your scheduled sessions can get you banned from this great opportunity.

★ Appropriate behavior is expected. If students behave inappropriately with tutors, tutors are required to report it to GaTutors which is then reported back to our administration.

1. Go to Infinite Campus through Classlink.

2. Go to the “More” tab

3. Click on the “SLDS Student Portal” link under Quick Links

4. Click on the box that says “GA Tutor”

5. Pick which subject/course

6. Choose your available Date and Time

7. Fill in your information and what you plan to work on (standards/ topics).

Some fields will be pre-filled. You cannot make change to your name, but can edit other fields.

Use your PERSONAL email. Your CCBOE Student email filter may block these emails.

8. You should be sent a confirmation to your personal email with the Zoom link for the day/time you scheduled.

If you are unable to attend, please follow directions in the email to reschedule or cancel. Repeated no-shows will result in administrative contact.

Zoom Guide for Students

★ Each session has a unique link.

★ Students DO NOT need a Zoom account to join a tutoring session.

★ Sessions can be joined from a desktop application (Windows or Mac), mobile app, or a web browser.

★ Students can join tutoring sessions from a web browser without downloading/installing Zoom.

★ Downloading and installing Zoom can be completed before joining. Otherwise, students will be prompted to download and install Zoom when clicking a join link.

GaTutor Student Code of Conduct

★ Students must attend all scheduled sessions and arrive on time. Sessions start promptly, and tutors will stay for the full 25 minutes but will not extend the session for late arrivals.

★ Cancellations must be made at least 2 hours in advance. Frequent no-shows or tardiness will lead to loss of access to GaTutor. After 3 no-shows, the student’s account will be restricted for 14 days. Additional no-shows may result in being blocked from the platform.
