KOLKATA

Howrah Station

Howrah Bridge

Designed in 1905, by the British Architect Halsey Ricardo, the Howrah Station follows the Romanesque style of Architecture. It is the second oldest station in India.

Commissioned in 1943, it is a Cantilever Bridge spanning 1500ft. It was designed by M/s. Rendel, Palmer and Tritton

BISHNUPUR

Earliest Terracotta Temples in India, the Bishnupur Temples are known for materiality and craftsmanship.

Built by the Malla kings between 1622 CE and 1758 CE, the Bishnupur temples are a group of 20 temples.

KHAJURAHO

Built between 885 AD and 1050 AD by the Chandela dynasty, the Khajuraho temples are significant temples of the Nagara Style Architecture.

GWALIOR

An architectural marvel of the 8th century, the Gwalior Fort . It is built in the Dravidian Style with highly sculpted exteriors.

Exterior has blue ceramic tiles.

The fort has various elements inside, such as sculptures of Jain Tirthankaras, Teli ka Mandir, Sas Bahu Temple, Man Singh Palace, Karn Mahal, Gujari Mahal,etc.

DELHI

Built by Shah Jahan, the gate is so named because it connects to Kashmir. Delhi used to be enclosed by high walls; had 14 gates as entry and exit points from different directions.

Built by Shah Jahan, the Delhi Gate is similar the the Kashmere Gate and is built in Sandstone. It is said the emperor used this gate to go to the Jama Masjid for Prayer.

The Qutub Minar Group of monuments as we know it today was later expanded by various Sultans of Delhi including Ala-ud-din Khilji and Firoz Shah Tuglaq. Qutub Minar happens to be tallest brick minarets in the world.

The Old Delhi Station is the oldest railway station in Delhi, built by the Britishers. It was built in red sandstone to give an effect of the Red Fort located in the vicinity. The present building of the station was built in 1900 and opened for the public in 1903.

Originally Viceroy's House and later Government House) is the official residence of the President of India at the western end of Rajpath in New Delhi, India

Rashtrapati Bhavan was the creation of architects of exceptional imagination and masterfulness, Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. It was Sir Lutyens who conceptualized the H shaped building, covering an area of 5 acres on a 330 acre estate. This mansion has a total of 340 rooms spread over four floors, 2.5 kilometres of corridors and 190 acres of garden area.
