Overview

North Campus Technology Checkout (NCTC) is an equipment loan center that offers faculty, students, and staff the opportunity to checkout various technology tools at no cost. Equipment including laptops, tablets, cameras, audio recording kits, XR devices and more can be reserved. Collaboratively formed by LSA Technology Services, CAEN, and the Digital Media Commons and operated by LSA Technology Services, North Campus Technology Checkout launched in 2023 and is located in the Duderstadt Center at the University of Michigan. bit.ly/um-nctc

Services

• Equipment Loan - available to all Michigan Engineering and LSA students, faculty, and staff *
• Extensive Inventory - the Equipment Catalog features over 90 different types of equipment
• Dedicated Staff - team members are available to assist users with making reservations and product selection, as well as provide orientations for complex equipment
• Multiple Locations - equipment at all locations is available for checkout and return to that location. Upon request during the original checkout process, equipment picked up at NCTC can also be returned at our Modern Languages Building location

Equipment Catalog

The Equipment Catalog features over 90 different types of device kits and equipment currently available.

• Equipment is categorized and searchable by type, location, and access level
• Items are designated into four access levels (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4), as specified in each item’s description
• Level 1 classified items are available to all students, faculty, and staff
• Loan duration for many items is 72 hours (3 days)
