Tarantula venom is not highly toxic to humans.

Tarantulas have 8 eyes.

The female tarantula carried her eggs in a silk cocoon attached to her body.

It can take up to 10 years for a tarantula to fully mature.

Tarantulas eat insects, others spiders and sometimes small animals such as frogs and lizards.

Tarantulas can be found in Central and South America, Southern Asia, Africa, and Australia.

A tarantula catches its prey, bites it, injects it with poison, and then eats it.

Tarantulas ‘throw’ their hair as a defence. The hair can irritate eyes or skin.

Predators of the tarantula are raccoons, birds, lizards, frogs, skunks.

Some people eat tarantulas.

The tantatula does not spin a web.

Their bodies are covered in tiny hairs.

I walked abroad

Like a red-faced farmer.

A frog jumps into the pond,

But his daughter, named Nan,

Ran away with a man

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,

And blesséd are their days.

Now the flowers are all folded,

And the dark is going by.

I looked for you by the front door

But still he lingered near
