Maker Ed offers training, resources, and support to educators and institutions (spanning formal and informal contexts) who are integrating maker education into their learning environments.

What is MAKER EDUCATION?

Maker education is:

  • Hands-on: it involves encounters with physical, digital, or virtual tools and materials.

  • Learner-driven: learners define and drive their own learning and do so in a variety of ways. They make meaning out of their experience and learning; they determine their pathway into learning; and they set their own goals along that pathway. Learners have the opportunity to figure things out on their own.

What are THINKING ROUTINES?

Thinking routines are short, engaging, two-or-three-step patterns of intellectual behavior that are highly transferable across contexts. They are designed to be easy to use, easy to remember, easy to transfer, and to be vividly effective when used on a wide variety of topics.(Agency by Design)
