Bussing Information:

  • Bus starter information was given to eligible families during the registration process. Exact bussing details will be provided at the end of August.
  • If weather conditions or other issues arise, which may make a bus late at times, follow all the rules and expectations on the website www.simcoecountyschoolbus.ca.
  • Follow Twitter: @SCSTC_SchoolBus
  • Buses have a window of 15 minutes to be late. ONLY after this time, will they put on their website / Twitter and also notify the school (NOT before).

Student Absence:

  • If your child is going to be away, you MUST call the safe arrival phone number to let us know.
  • It is a 24 hour answering machine. Please call 1-888-885-8065 and follow the prompts.
  • When you call, leave your child's first and last name, teacher name and reason for absence.
  • Safe Arrival registration forms will go home in September: these forms are so that we know if you want us to call you if your child is absent.

Medical:

  • If your child has a medical condition that we need to be aware of, a Plan of Care needs to be completed by you.

Anaphylaxis Diabetes Epilepsy Asthma General(Other)

  • If your child will need medication administered or stored at school, a Plan of Care (see specific links above) and a Medical Form (signed by a doctor) must be completed.
  • To obtain these forms please contact the office or click the links above.
  • These forms must be in place for the first day of school or ASAP.

Everyday (Dress for the Weather)

  • Velcro running shoes only please (pair for indoor and outdoor)
  • Rubber boots and splash pants
  • Winter jacket and snowpants
  • Winter boots
  • Warm and waterproof mittens
  • Neck warmer (no scarves)
  • Hat (weather appropriate)

Extra Bag to Remain at School

  • 2 extra pairs of pants/shorts
  • 2 extra pairs of socks
  • 2 extra pairs of underwear
  • 2 extra shirts

NOTE: PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING! Clothing should be comfortable and allow for your child to independently dress themselves. Practice putting on velcro shoes and jackets independently!

Lunch:

  • We have two nutritional breaks. Each one is twenty minutes long.
  • A variety of healthy food choices in small quantities are encouraged.
  • Practice opening containers this summer and picking which foods to eat first. Cut a slit into packages that your child cannot open, and practice tearing them open.
  • Please check labels to ensure all food is nut free.
  • Some classrooms may require additional requirements for the safety of all and that will be communicated by the educators during the first days of school.

  • We are a paperless school! We use school cash online!
  • Sign up to pay for hot lunch, field trips etc.

Fast Facts:

  • Each classroom team of educators may have different methods of communication (e-mail, Seesaw, etc). ALWAYS, your first point of contact is the educators from your child’s classroom.
  • Each classroom is unique, yet follows the practices & expectations of the Kindergarten Program.
  • In Kindergarten, students are outside EVERYDAY for a minimum of 100 minutes per day (rain or shine). Always dress appropriately for the outside weather.

  • We practice self-regulation everyday and encourage your child to be independent with their lunch, shoes, jackets and belongings (it is good to practice these skills leading up to kindergarten).
  • Kindergarten students do not need pencil cases. Only their indoor shoes and extra clothes required.
  • Donations such as tissues, foaming hand soap and paper towel are always appreciated.
