Asking for support, being honest about what you can handle, and identifying resources will help you cope with senioritis.

Others won’t know to help you unless you self-advocate and ask for support.

Dealing with Senioritis

For each of the three scenarios:

  • Think through the potential consequences of each scenario.
  • Give advice on what the student should do - explain your reasoning!

Example:

Sam has a busy week. Between a Math test, submitting her first college application, and babysitting, she is feeling burnt out. On top of all of this, she was asked to tutor her little cousin! What should she do?

Response: If Sam thinks the tutoring will add to her exhaustion, cause her to miss deadlines or fail her class, it might make more sense for her to say that she isn’t capable of adding another task to her list right now.
