Project updates

New blueprint proposal: SW Orchestration

I’m planning to go on travel and need to carry additional cargo. I connect my cargo trailer to my vehicle and I’m off to enjoy a fun week at Eclipse SDV Community Days at EclipseCon.

The system detects that a smart trailer is being connected to the car. A signal is raised to the orchestrator that a smart trailer provider and application is required to manage the smart trailer and adjust body functions and powertrain accordingly and ensure a smooth trip to EclipseCon.

What is this:

FEDERATE will work towards a common understanding on the vision of the SDV program and create an orchestrated advice for current and future projects in the SDV program. In addition, recommendations for future calls are prepared in alignment with a Roadmap and Joint Vision Document for accelerated SDV R&D&I, created as part of the CSA

Eclipse SDV contribution & expectations

Eclipse SDV becomes the home for open-source specifications and standards related to source code
Eclipse SDV Hackathons, technical alignment meetings and Events become the home where the common understanding is created
Eclipse SDV Community becomes the catalyst and driving force of the EU SDV Community, provides best practices and ceremonies

Exida Symposium Key take away

Exida is a well known certification and consulting agency.
OS and third party SW strongly featured (eg linux kernel, Glibc math)
ISO 26262 is not designed for complex, preexisting or OS SW
We cannot fully control the future of an open project
Glibc: Proposal of “building blocks” of an alternative foundation to create a safety case
