The Housewarming will take place at Bristol Beacon, Trenchard Street, BS1 5AR, on Saturday 2 December from 11am-2am.
What is The Housewarming?
The Housewarming is a festival of music, workshops, performances and activities at Bristol Beacon.
Bristol Beacon is a music venue that has been closed for 5 years. The Housewarming is our big party to celebrate our reopening.
When is it happening?
Do I need a ticket?
You do not need to book tickets, the event is FREE.
Where to come in?
Everyone is being asked to enter Bristol Beacon via our Colston Street entrance. The door looks like this:
You can enter Bristol Beacon via the entrance on Trenchard Street. The door on Trenchard Street looks like this.
There will be a queue, but if you feel you are unable to queue, you can enter Bristol Beacon via the entrance on Trenchard Street.
How can I get there?
Bristol Beacon is located at Trenchard Street, BS1 5AR.
Disabled parking can be found in the NCP Trenchard Street car park.
A lay-by for curb-side drop-off is immediately outside Bristol Beacon on Pipe Lane.

What will I experience at The Housewarming?
There will be lots of things to see and do at The Housewarming.
There will be musical performances, including orchestras, bands, singers and DJs.
There will be lots of people and sometimes it might be a little bit loud.
When something is new, this might make us feel a little nervous or anxious… and that is OK.
How will I feel?
We might also feel happy or excited… that is all OK too.

We will have ear plugs (for children over 12 years) available at the Box Office, but you might want to bring your ear defenders.

ICHI
11.45am-12.15pm, Bridgehouse Stage
ICHI is a Bristol-based Japanese experimental singer-songwriter. His performance will include quirky handmade instrument inventions.
Craft, junk percussion, glitter tattoos and family friendly activities
11.30am-4pm, Terrace, Bridgehouse
What can I do at The Housewarming?
Here is a little flavour of what you can expect to hear and some activities that you might want to take part in:
Jazz Ambassadors and Jazz Blueprints
12pm-12.30pm, The Lantern
Bristol Beacon’s very own young people’s jazz bands, playing classic swing, funk, and hip hop.
Reggae Orchestra and Windrush Choir
12pm-12.45pm, Beacon Hall
Bristol Reggae Orchestra and Windrush Choir are a collective of local musicians, who all love reggae and play music old favourites such as Nat King Cole and more contemporary African and Jazz musicians.
Jen Reid Storytelling
1.15pm-1.45pm, Bridgehouse
Author Jen Reid, will read “A Hero Like Me”, the tale of a little girl, Bristol and questions, what makes a hero.
Jump Street Family Jam
3.15pm-3.45pm, Bridgehouse
A fun, interactive music making session with Jump Street – a brass band.
The Big Sing
4.30 - 5.15pm, Beacon Hall
Gena Rose will be leading a fun interactive sing for all ages. No musical experience necessary.
Elles Bailey
5.30pm - 6.15pm, Beacon Hall
Elles Bailey is a singer, songwriter and pianist. She will be on stage with her band playing Americana (music influenced by American people and culture) and blues.
Lady Nade
6.30pm – 7.15pm, The Lantern
Lady Nade is a Folk and Americana singer-songwriter. She sings and plays guitar. Her songs carry messages of love, loss, hope, relationships, friendships and the positive connection between music and wellbeing.
Quiet space
Our quiet space can be found in Meeting Room 2.
There will be lots of comfortable seating for you to take a bit of time to reset.
Toilets
Our accessible toilet facilities are found on all levels and are signposted in the building.
Dogs
Registered assistance dogs and emotional support animals are allowed.
