Hope Week
April
We kick off April with Hope Week. The Jesup High School Hope Squad is a group of student who are trained to actively listen, support peers, and connect people with helping resources within our school.
This year’s theme is: Planting Seeds of Hope.
Each student in 2nd through 4th grade decorated a flower petal with positive affirmations. The petals are then arranged to create a flower on display in our multipurpose room.
Guidance Focus
There is always so much freshness and hope with the Spring months. There is also a push to make sure that we are covering as much as we can in the last few months of school in guidance class.
Soon our 3rd and 4th graders will be taking ISASP tests (3rd grade for the first time)! In guidance we will continue to learn about tools we can use when faced with worry about tests. Our motto is: “You have to know How to show what you Know!”
In other classes, we will learn about citizenship… and begin our unit on Jobs.
What are we doing in guidance class?
Jesup Community Schools’ website features a Mental Health Supports tab!
Here you’ll find-
-Contact information for our school counselors, social worker, & at-risk liaison.
-A directory of community resources
-A directory of mental health support resources
-A virtual calming room with activities for all ages.
I encourage you to take some time to explore this new resource! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
