Potential solutions to high levels of income inequality

  • Increasing income tax for the very richest, and redistributing the revenue to fund universal public services like healthcare, education, housing, pensions and social security
  • Increasing corporation tax
  • Limiting the amount a company can pay its highest paid staff (or mandating a ratio between highest and lowest paid staff, e.g. 1:10)
  • Increasing the minimum wage
  • Investment in training and education
  • Price caps on rent and utilities (e.g. water, gas, electricity)
  • Improving ease of access to social security
