ASK & ANSWER Questions
When learning online, make sure to ask and answer questions using the chat feature or raise your hand if you want to be unmuted for conversation.

Chat and Sharing Options:
When you join a Zoom meeting, you’re able to share your screen or send a chat to your teacher. Make sure to follow your teacher’s instructions and only share your screen or send them a chat message when it is appropriate and allowed.

NON-VERBALS
When learning online, use Universal Hand Signals like “agree” or “build on” to communicate non-verbally with your teacher and classmates.

Universal Hand Signals & Other Non-Verbals:
When learning online, it is important to use non-verbal signals to communicate you are actively listening and engaged in the lesson and/or conversation. Make sure to use your Gem Prep Universal Hand Signals and other non-verbal signals (nod your head, smile, etc.).

Did You Know…
Zoom provides a feature for meeting hosts (your teacher) to track meeting participant attention and attendance. The meeting host can see an indicator in the participant panel if an attendee does not have Zoom in focus for more than 30 seconds.
