  • Camperships for SWC units are requested online, no paper forms will be accepted.
    • Camperships link to the unit record and show as tentative credits until approved.
    • Camperships are awarded for up to 50% of the cost of early bird rates for camp.
    • Scouts requesting camperships pay the rate they qualify for based on deposits and payment deadlines.
    • March 1 campership application deadline. Forms accepted after and are awarded with remaining available funds.

National Youth �Leadership Training (NYLT)

NYLT is a leadership development course developed by the BSA to enable Scouting youth to lead their Scouting organization. NYLT uses the aims and methods of Scouting to teach leadership skills.

Cancellations

  • The $100 deposit is not refundable under any circumstances.
    • This fee may be transferred to another camper within your unit.
  • The balance of a campers’ fee less the $100 deposit may be refunded up until two weeks prior to the start of your week at camp for the following reasons
  • Medical issue regarding the camper
  • Summer School
  • Extreme family emergencies

Medical Forms for Camp

  • Follow the Medical Guide for everything related to Medical Forms
  • Medical Practitioners’ signature is REQUIRED for B2, C, and Medication Permission form.
  • Medication instructions on these forms must match how your scout plans to take their meds in camp.
  • We Require official records of Immunization history, and
  • photocopies of your Insurance Card included in your medical forms.
  • Meningococcal Form required for 7+ overnights.
  • Other sections of the new medical guide must be signed by scout and parents and submitted with their medical paperwork.
  • Prescreening with council physician will drastically improve you sunday checkin

Membership Verification

Scouts BSA Resident Camp

  • All Scouts and Adults attending Scouts BSA Resident Camps must be registered with Scouting America
  • All adult leaders attending Scouts BSA Resident Camps must have a current Youth Protection Training date.
  • Seneca Waterways Council units will use an online validation system as part of registration.
  • Out of Council Units must submit a unit roster via their Scouting Event registration. Third party rosters, or excel worksheets are not acceptable forms of roster verification. If roster does not include YPT information, a training report or certificates Must also be submitted.
  • Birth Dates for all Adult Attendees must be submitted through the scoutingevent.com registration at least two weeks before attending camp, so that camps staff can complete a NYS Background check
  • To make sure that criminal background checks have been completed and a member ID can be issued, we recommend submitting adult applications no later than mid-May to your service center to be processed. This should give plenty of time for processing.
  • Unregistered Scouts and Leaders, or leaders without YPT will not be permitted to stay overnight in camp.

Food Service

  • Massawepie Scout Camps allows units to eat either in our Dining Hall, or patrol cook in their campsite as a unit with food provided from our commissary.
    • Patrol cooking units can also elect to eat in the Dining Hall for lunch to allow for more flexibility in their camp schedule.
  • Three meals per day are served, beginning with Sunday dinner and ending with Saturday breakfast.
  • If Scouts or leaders have special dietary needs, notification must be made through the Camp Food Accommodation form (see appendix) two weeks prior to your troop’s arrival. All request must be submitted via the online form for your camp session at least 2 weeks prior to camp- links will be distributed in March.

Living the Scout Law in Camp

The Scout Oath and Law are expected to be followed throughout your entire visit at camp. Massawepie Scout Camps has a NO tolerance policy for bullying, hazing or harassment. Bullying is grounds for immediate dismissal from camp at the discretion of the Reservation Director. Any form of verbal abuse, physical abuse, or threats will result in immediate dismissal from camp; authorities may be contacted at the Reservation Director’s discretion.
