November 5, 2023 (WEEK 51 OF CHURCH FORMATION)
LORD’S DAY WORSHIP
Today, enjoy a deep relationship with God. That is how we rest.
Without it, you are just practicing religion, which Jesus came to denounce.
Praise
Worthy of It All
Worthy of It All
It Is Well
Grander earth has quaked before
Moved by the sound of His voice
And seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard
It Is Well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And through it all, through it all
It is well
It Is Well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And it is well, with me
It Is Well
Far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can't see
And this mountain that's in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea
It Is Well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And through it all, through it all
It is well
It Is Well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And it is well, it is well
It Is Well
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
It Is Well
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
It Is Well
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
The waves and wind still know His name
It Is Well
And it is well, With my soul
It is well, With my soul
It is well, With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
It Is Well
And it is well, With my soul
It is well, With my soul
It is well, With my soul
It Is Well
It is well, it is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
It Is Well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And through it all, through it all
It is well
It Is Well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And it is well, with me
More Like Jesus
You came to the world you created
Trading your crown for a cross
You willingly died
Your innocent life paid the cost
More Like Jesus
Counting your status as nothing,
The King of all kings came to serve
Washing my feet
Covering me with your love
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything
More Like Jesus
You are my life and my treasure
The one that I can't live without
Here at your feet my desires and dreams, I lay down
Here at your feet my desires and dreams, I lay down
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything
More Like Jesus
Oh Lord
Change me like only You can
Here with my hearts in your hands
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
This world
Is dying to know who You are
You've shown us the way to Your heart
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
Oh Lord
Change me like only You can
Here with my hearts in your hands
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
This world
Is dying to know who You are
You've shown us the way to Your heart
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, may Your name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon. May Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.For the Kingdom and all the power and glory belong to You forever and ever. Amen.

Scripture Reading Principles
Matthew 20:1-16 (NLT)
1"For the Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out early one morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2He agreed to pay the normal daily wage and sent them out to work.
Matthew 20:1-16 (NLT)
3"At nine o'clock in the morning he was passing through the marketplace and saw some people standing around doing nothing. 4So he hired them, telling them he would pay them whatever was right at the end of the day. 5So they went to work in the vineyard. At noon and again at three o'clock he did the same thing.
Matthew 20:1-16 (NLT)
6"At five o'clock that afternoon he was in town again and saw some more people standing around. He asked them, 'Why haven't you been working today?' 7"They replied, 'Because no one hired us.' "The landowner told them, 'Then go out and join the others in my vineyard.'
Matthew 20:1-16 (NLT)
8"That evening he told the foreman to call the workers in and pay them, beginning with the last workers first. 9When those hired at five o'clock were paid, each received a full day's wage. 10When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day's wage.
Matthew 20:1-16 (NLT)
11When they received their pay, they protested to the owner, 12 'Those people worked only one hour, and yet you've paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat.' 13"He answered one of them, 'Friend, I haven't been unfair! Didn't you agree to work all day for the usual wage?
Matthew 20:1-16 (NLT)
14Take your money and go. I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you. 15Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?' 16"So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last."

Matthew 19:16-23 (NLT)
16Someone came to Jesus with this question: "Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?" 17…if you want to receive eternal life, keep the commandments." 18"Which ones?" the man asked. And Jesus replied: "
Matthew 19:16-23 (NLT)
19Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.'" 20"I've obeyed all these commandments," the young man replied. "What else must I do?" 21Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Matthew 19:16-23 (NLT)
22But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions. 23Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 19:25-26 (NLT)
25The disciples were astounded. "Then who in the world can be saved?" they asked. 26Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."
Matthew 19:27-30 (NLT)
27Then Peter said to him, "We've given up everything to follow you. What will we get?" 28Jesus replied, "I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Matthew 19:27-30 (NLT)
29And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then. Irrational
Giving and Forgiving is IrrationalJust like our Father is irrationally generous.
Let’s imitate the Father.
Grace
God gives us grace, more than we deserve. We should do likewise.
Work for free. God is your employer.
Forgiven
How many of us need three denialsand a restoration to get us backto our first love?
Micah 6:6-8 (NLT)
6What can we bring to the Lord? What kind of offerings should we give him? Should we bow before God with offerings of yearling calves? 7Should we offer him thousands of rams and ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for our sins? 8No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you. to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Imitating the FatherGiving and Forgiving
God seems to be irrational.Maybe we need to imitate His irrational goodness.
Matthew 20:1-16
The challenge for this week
Forgive those who hurt you. It’s irrational, but do it.
Give your most valuable to those who need it: time, money, health, and reputation. God will fill you hundredfold more when you give.
Don’t barter with God. Just go do it.
Give an Offering and Prayer Requests
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” -2Corinthians 9:7
