Reflection - What I’ve learned

I have learned things about the bungy and how much it costs. I learned that the waikato goes through 8 hydro powered dams to get to the sea. I also found out that bungy jumping is from Vanuatu because the people land dived to show their courage and strength.

Reflection - Taupō Bungy Trip

On this slide, write one or two persuasive sentences aimed at domestic tourists.

You must persuade them about why they should come to Taupō and do a bungy jump. The Taupo Bungy is a very popular tourist attraction with heaps of people doing it. It is an adrenaline rush for all those adrenaline junkies.

Reflection - Taupō Museum

Imagine someone from your whanau is visiting Taupō for the first time since Te Atea - Tapuaeharuru was finished.

List 3 facts you could tell them about the space: There is a beautiful Waka that sits in a room. There is also a Marae where you have to take your shoes off. At Te Atea there is a circle of metal things that resemble elements.

On this slide, brainstorm at least 3 different NEW attraction or activity ideas for Taupō.

Extra for experts: Your attraction should share geographical, historical and/or cultural information about our locations. A water slide that goes into the lake for 500m and then you get picked up by a jet ski and taken back to the shore. A zip line from the top of huka falls to the bottom. Bouncy castle water slide in spa park with different heights to do it on.

On a google doc begin to record your investigation by completing the following tasks:

• Name the Concept eg Waterpark on the lake
• Research this idea in other places around the world - see if you can find at least 3 other examples from other places - add an image and description for each.
• Write a reflection of how this concept could potentially work within our region - what would work well, what would need to change, is it a good idea?
• Do this research for all THREE different ideas.

The Extras sentences

My favourite activity from #LoveTaupō was the VR at drop zone.

It was the best because I won the drumming.

One reason I think that tourists to Taupō would enjoy it is that it’s very fun and welcoming to all ages.

It would have been even better if you could play roblox through it.

My new activity / attraction in Taupō would be a waterslide that went into the lake.

This would be popular with tourists because they come here for the lake.

The type of tourist this would appeal to would be people that come from somewhere cold.

This waterslide will be a great tourist attraction and many people will come and visit it because it look really fun.
